A Message From Principal Peek
Dear Husky Families,
This morning, we received a threatening phone call that required immediate action. Thanks to the swift response of our staff and local law enforcement, the threat was quickly determined to be a hoax (commonly referred to as a "swatting" incident.)
At no point were our students or staff in any physical danger, and our campus is entirely safe. However, I know how unsettling events like this are for our families.
While today’s call was a malicious prank, we treat every single threat with the utmost seriousness. I want to reassure you that our emergency protocols worked exactly as designed:
Our staff acted instantly, following our established safety protocols.
The White County Sheriff’s Department arrived on campus immediately. They conducted a thorough sweep of the building to ensure our campus was secure.
Students remained safe in their designated areas with their teachers until law enforcement gave us the official "all clear." We know as parents it is difficult to stay off campus, but this allowed our first responders quick access to the building.
We are grateful for the quick response of our local law enforcement partners, and I could not be more proud of how our students and staff handled today’s stressful situation.
Thank you for your continued trust, patience, and partnership as we work together to keep Northfield a safe place to learn. If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our main office.
Sincerely,
Principal Beth Peek
